Introduction

Before I input my first entry on www.baseballer.com, I wanted to take a minute to introduce myself. I have worked in the sports media industry for the last six years and my passion in life is sports, especially baseball. My objective with this blog to talk about different topics throughout the major leagues on all 30 teams. I look forward to receiving comments and opinions from all baseball fans throughout the world.
Now lets get to the topics that are out there in the baseball world.
Today the Reds fired GM Wayne Krivsky and was replaced by former GM Walt Jocketty. Krivsky was only hired before the 2006 season so he didn't have much time to fix an organization, which hasn't been to the playoffs since 1995 and had a winning season since 2000. This was going to happen eventually with somebody like Jocketty in the organization breathing down your next if you make a mistake. It's like being the GM of a team and Bill Parcells is hired as a special consultant. You know your job is in jeopardy. This was perfect timing after the team started 9-12 but Krivsky got a bad deal. The Reds should have given him more time, especially after just hiring Dusty Baker to take over the managerial position in October.
Tigers OF Curtis Granderson returns tonight. He has been complaining of sore legs because he hasn't played in three weeks but I bet his presence in the lineup changes the season for the Tigers. He's a flashy player that brings excitement. After having a broken bone in his hand, lets see how long it takes to get back into form. I'm going to guess mid-May.
Indians P C.C. Sabathia is back. He bounced back after two rough starts and pitched six shutout innings last night, recording 11 strikeouts. It was against the Royals, which have lost five straight games, but it was still impressive. Fantasy owners don't dump Sabathia yet.
Mariners P Felix Hernandez had another good outing last night against the Orioles. He didn't record the win because Jeremy Guthrie pitched just as well as Hernandez. I'm still floored Hernandez was drafted so late in the fantasy drafts. This guy is the real deal. I would put him on the mound if I needed to win one game.
