Mets First Win at Citi Fied Highlights Wednesday's Results

Tigers 8 White Sox 0 – Armando Galarraga has allowed only one earned run in his first two starts. He threw six-plus innings, allowing four hits and striking out five. Miguel Cabrera went 3-for-5, with a home run and two RBIs.
Indians 5 Royals 4 – Sidney Ponson pitched six strong innings for a second consecutive start, but Kyle Farnworth allowed three runs in the seventh innings and ended the Royals three=game winning streak.
Rockies 5 Cubs 2 – Jason Marquis improved his record to 2-0 after allowing one run in seven innings, and added a two-run double in the second inning. Rich Harden struck out eight batters, but didn’t pitch passed the third inning.
Red Sox 8 Athletics 2 – After 7 1/3 innings, Kurt Suzuki singled to left to break up Tim Wakefield’s no-hitter. Mike Lowell and J.D. Drew homered to help the Red Sox offense come to life.
Yankees 4 Rays 3 – After losing by 10 runs in the first game in the series, the Yankees bounce back to win the next two games. Robinson Cano hit a two-run home run in the fourth inning, and Derek Jeter put the Yankees ahead in the top of the ninth with a RBI double.
Mets 7 Padres 2 – Mets win their first game at Citi Field after losing the home opener Monday. Carlos Delgado had two hits, including a home run in the eight inning. Carlos Perez allowed one run on three hits in six innings pitched.
