Report: Dodgers Interested in Pedro

March 13th 2009 14:50
According to ESPN.com, the Dodgers are interested in Pedro Martinez. Their rotation consists of Chad Billingsley, Hiroki Kuroda, Randy Wolf and Clayton Kershaw, but nobody has claimed the fifth spot in the rotation. Eric Milton, Claudio Vargas and Jason Schmidt were the frontrunners but have not pitched well enough so Martinez could be the piece they are missing. He was impressive in the World Baseball Classic for the Dominican Republic, pitching six shutout inninggs against the Netherlands, but can his body withstand a six month season?
