STEROIDS IN BASEBALL
February 17th 2009 18:54
Every baseball season the steroid issue resurfaces and it seems like it will never go away. As baseball fans we have to realize it happened and just let it be. Bud Selig has put into place testing and punishments and that is all that can be done. He can’t do anything for what happened in the past. The record books are tainted and you can add asterisks all you want but it’s not going to change anything. I just feel like this entire issue has been overblown and we act like we are shocked these players did this.
I can only speak for myself but if I was in their shoes and can make more money in my career I would do it. I wouldn’t do it now because of the consequences, but if there no rules in place I’m going to do whatever I can to take care of my family. There is too much money out there in baseball not to try and get your hands on and it’s a very competitive sport. There is always somebody waiting in the wings if you don’t produce. You can look in the mirror and say you wouldn’t do it, but I think you are kidding yourself.
